The Lens app has seen a considerable amount of development since it was announced back in 2017.
First, it was inside Google Photos. Then, it was moved on to the Google Assistant. Lastly, it was finally graduated into the feature that’s built-in into almost every Android device out there.
Here are useful Google Lens features that make it good
Useful Google Lens Features to Use
1. First, Copying text
Among the features that I usually use in Google Lens is copying text from any surrounding.
It is a time-saving feature. Doing this is straightforward. All you have to do is point your camera at the text you want to copy and head into the Google Lens mode. What you do next is tap on the text, and Lens will highlight it.
Afterward, just drag to select everything you want to copy. Next, tap on the ‘Copy text’ button. And you are all done!

2. Secondly, recognizing Flowers, Animals, Paintings, and More
The Lens app is very efficient at recognizing flowers, animals, famous paintings, and other things for instance landmarks. Thus, in the event that you are out on and you encounter an unknown flower, use the Lens app to find out what it is.
All you have to do is point your camera at the flower, or animal to figure out what it is. In case that does not work, just click a picture of it and use the Google Lens feature inside Google Photos.

3. Thirdly, adding Contacts, locating Businesses by Scanning Visiting Cards
The other feature that you might find impressive, mostly if you meet a lot of people who hand you visiting cards, is the Lens app’s ability to add contacts by simply scanning a business card.
Additionally, the Lens app can be used to get directions to a business by scanning someone’s business card itself. It is important to note that this does not always work, except for businesses that are listed on Google Maps.
4. Fourthly, scanning URLs from PC to Open in Mobile
Ever gone to a website on your laptop and then wanted to go to the same website on your smartphone instead? With the Google Lens app, it’s more than possible. Just launch Google Lens on your phone, point it at the URL bar on your browser, and tap on the URL.
What happens is Google will auto-detect the URL text and will give you the option to ‘go’ to that address in your smartphone.

On the flip side, this of course comes with the limitation that web pages with longer URLs will not fit inside the URL bars on most browsers and displays.
In these scenarios, this method won’t work directly. Although, the other alternative is that you can always copy and paste the URL into a notepad document and scan that, or you can add a QR-code extension to your browser that converts URLs into QR codes which you can then scan with Google Lens and open in your smartphone browser.
As you have seen and read. Google Lens app is a very efficient tool when it comes to getting work done on devices.
